Common questions
A few things you might be wondering.
Start here, or contact a provider for questions about your situation.
Where do I start?
For immediate support, find someone to call. To browse, use the resource directory or meeting finder.
What if I do not have insurance?
Ask Montcalm Care Network about eligibility, payment options, and help applying for coverage. Call 989-831-7520. Access Now explains its services and costs.
How do I find a provider who accepts Medicaid?
Use the Medicaid filter, then confirm with the provider that they accept your current plan. Coverage and availability can change.
Where can I ask about medication for substance use treatment?
See the Treatment & MAT listings. A qualified clinician can discuss options and what may fit your needs.
What happens at a meeting?
Formats vary. Many groups include readings and time for members to share, and you can usually begin by listening. Check the group description or ask the organizer what to expect.
Can family or friends attend?
Open meetings generally welcome visitors. Closed meetings are intended for people seeking recovery from the group’s focus. Al-Anon offers support for families and friends.
Are there options other than 12-step groups?
The meeting finder includes SMART Recovery and All Recovery groups. See the online options on the meetings page, too.
Where can I get free Narcan?
The Free Narcan page lists pickup and mail-order options. Call locations before going to confirm stock and hours.
What if I need a ride, food, or housing?
The directory includes transportation, food and basic needs, and housing. Ask a provider or peer coach about other options that may fit your situation.
Are all the listings verified?
No. A “Checked” date appears only when a record has a verification date. Other entries are from public sources and still need direct confirmation. Call ahead before visiting.
How do I add a resource or report a mistake?
Use the listing update form to prepare an email with the details. It opens your email app; you still need to send the message there.
